Program Description: The Healthcare Specialist Certificate program provides the foundational skills and knowledge needed for students to enter the healthcare field or to add additional skills and credentials for those already working in the field. The knowledge and skills gained allow students to function as a productive and valuable member of the health care team. Students are stressed the importance of contributing to the wellbeing of the patient by demonstrating professional competency in their chosen specialty. All courses are transferrable to the Associate of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Technology. Students who successfully complete the program are prepared to attempt one of the following industry certifications offered by the National Healthcareer Association.
