American College of Technology is now American Business & Technology University
St. Joseph, Mo. – American College of Technology is now American Business & Technology University! The school gained university status approval earlier this year from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and the Distance Education and Training Council. April 2, 2014 marks the first official day for the school’s transition from ACOT to ABTU.
Be on the lookout for lots of changes on our website and social media accounts as we switch over to ABTU. Check out our new website address at www.ABTU.edu. Staff, faculty and student email accounts will remain acot.edu for the time being.
The school was founded in 2001 in St. Joseph, Mo. by Sam Atieh, offering students an online platform for retraining services. Since then the school has grown to offer its students not only technical diplomas but bachelors and masters degrees as well.
“Prior to obtaining a graduate program students would transfer to other schools that we have articulation agreements with to complete their higher level degrees,” Lute Atieh, ABTU Chief Operations officer said. “Since our founding we had one major goal, offer career focused training and education to busy adults. Now we are doing that on more levels.”
Along with gaining university status, ABTU also changed physical locations earlier this year. The school’s main office is now located in the historic Wyeth Mansion at 1018 W. St. Maartens Dr. in St. Joseph, Missouri.
American Business & Technology University is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). ABTU is also certified by the Missouri Department of Higher Education to operate in the state of Missouri.
